Halloween returns to the Castro with $5 movie screenings, a costume contest hosted by the Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, family-friendly fun throughout the neighborhood, and more spooky surprises!

Brought to you by Civic Joy Fund, Another Planet Entertainment, Castro Merchants Association, and The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Halloween in the Castro continues the tradition of celebrating the neighborhood’s most beloved holiday as only the Castro can! The festivities include $5 entry to classic films, a costume contest hosted by The Sisters, local merchants activating their storefronts in innovative ways, and more spooky surprises! 

Stop by any of the free activities in the neighborhood throughout the day, including live music, pop-up drags performances, face painting, games, crafts, and more!

The Castro Theatre's lineup of classic Halloween favorite films during the day includes Death Becomes Her, Edward Scissorhands, and Hocus Pocus. Admission for each film is $5, but for those who dare enter the Castro in their creepiest and campiest Halloween costume, admission is FREE! 

You won’t want to miss the fun as The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host what is sure to be an unforgettable costume contest on the Castro Theatre stage at 8pm! Here, you will see some of the most incredible costumes in San Francisco, as The Sisters award prizes to the best of the night. The costume contest will be immediately followed by a screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show (included with admission to the costume contest).
